Packing the House

July 2011

Our friends, the Marleys, manage an apartment complex and let us know of an opening to manage a small apartment community in Tigard. We thought it would be nice to save rent money and save up for a house someday. We interviewed for the position and got offered the job 2 hours later! Then we had to start packing up everything. It's crazy how much stuff we've accumulated over 3 years. The boys thought it was great fun helping pack up boxes and then have stacks of boxes to hide behind and climb on.

Ammon's Baptism

July 2011

Another reason for the reunion was to celebrate Ammon's Baptism. Here are Marianne, Ammon and Wesley.

Spokane Temple

July 2011

One of our main reasons for all getting together was to be with Joanna as she went through the Temple for her endowment.

Grandchildren

July 2011

It was nice to have all the grandchildren together. Here are Grandma and Grandpa with the Schulls.

I think Joanna, Valerie and Liz were doing a silly song and dance.

Silly picture.

Swimming and Fireworks

July 2011

We all visited a local water park in Moscow. The kids had a lot of fun swimming. Hobbes really had fun. He loved going down little water slides and dog paddling all around the pools.

To celebrate Independence Day the kids had a parade and then had a firework show.

Desmond wasn't too interested when he couldn't touch the bright and sparkly part.

Fun in Moscow

July 2011 - We had a mini-Snyder family reunion at the Kunzlers in Moscow, ID. Everyone was able to make it except for Jonathan, Margaret and Kent. We had so much fun hanging out and playing.

All the older boys spent most of their time playing Star Wars Epic Duels with Brendan. They would play for hours each day.

Arch

The Schulls came to visit and we met them at OMSI with some of the Kunzler cousins and Grandma and Grandpa Snyder. Grandpa's height came in handy while building this arch. It stood up all by itself just long enough to snap a picture.

Strawberries

Strawberries are some of our favorite things about June. Desmond was old enough to join in the harvesting this year. He didn't discriminate, he picked green and red ones alike. We love enjoying a bowl full of strawberries every other day. Poor Daddy, there weren't many left by the time he got home from work.

Backyard

We sure like having a backyard, even if it is just dirt. At least it is a place for the boys to play. But boy to they get dirty.

Don't Eat that Rock

Desmond...don't eat that rock!

Such a cute boy.

Birthday Boy

My Mom used to take a picture of us kids on our birthday right as we woke up. She didn't do this every year, but I thought it would be fun to do this for my boys. Here is our sleepy Hobbes. Gotta love the crazy hair! HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY HOBBES!

Sleepy Hobbes

I had to share this cute picture of Hobbes. He fell asleep while looking at a book.

Valerie

Valerie came to visit us over the Memorial Day weekend. It was so much fun to have her visit us. We went to the Rose Gardens, but no roses were in bloom yet, but it was still fun to walk around the beautiful gardens.

We had fun visiting several parks. I'm sorry that most of the pictures are of Desmond. Hobbes was too busy running all over the place with Daddy.

At Laurelhurst Park near our home, Hobbes started following two boys around. They were playing "Spies". It was funny to see them play together. If I remember right, I think they were spying on a little girl that was on the other side to the park. She had a wand with a star at the top that they were trying to get back.

Here is Brendan reading a book to Hobbes at Powell's Books.

Mom and Dad came over to visit with some of the Kunzler cousins to see Valerie and to have a joint birthday party for Dad and Hobbes. Val and I made some yummy food. She made a wonderful cake and ice cream (sadly, we didn't take any pictures of the food).

Thanks again for visiting us Val! We had lots of fun! We love you!
